Ameren Missouri files 20-year plan with 10.6 GW of new gas, citing 2.8 GW of large-load demand by 2030
Ameren filed its integrated resource plan with the Missouri Public Service Commission on Sept. 28, 2026. It calls for 10.6 GW of new gas, 3.6 GW of solar, 1.5 GW of wind, 2.4 GW of storage and 1.2 GW of nuclear, while gas rises from about 5% to 60% of the resource mix by 2045 and coal is retired. Ameren says it has committed to serving 2.8 GW of aggregate large-load demand by 2030, up from 1.5 GW in its 2025 expectations, with data centers a main driver.
Why it matters
Builders and AI strategy leads siting in Ameren's Missouri territory should expect a gas-heavy supply mix and large-load cost-recovery provisions, which Ameren says require large customers to cover the infrastructure built to serve them.
